Linda Thomas, Housemother to the Goetheanum

Linda Thomas has been the inspiration for my master's project in cleaning (ha ha ha ha - I am including the ha-ha's for my daughter and my friends). I have heard that she does not answer emails.

She answered mine, I am so grateful to report. I did not ask for information. I asked only for her blessing, and she gave it to me. Thank you.

Dear Melangell,
My name is Maya and I live and work in a Camphill community in Pennsylvania. Currently I am trying to write a paper on cleaning and caring for spaces (Linda Thomas stuff) I was wondering if you have any information/resources/writings that I could use.

It would be greatly appreciated.

It always surprises me when someone from "out there" comes onto this blog, but there just aren't that many references to Linda Thomas out there.

From what I remember, LT used some products available only in Switzerland when she was home. But here, besides vinegar and baking soda, the thing that surprised me most was her far-ranging use of Ecover toilet bowl cleanser, and not just for toilet bowls. She said that it cut through a lot of the build up around faucets, etc. Let it sit overnight or at least for a while, and then you don't have to scrub hard.
Microfibre dustclots too.
Good luck - she is so inspiring! I assume you have her article from Gateways.

Hi,
Do you know if it's possible to find the gateways article online?
I dod a course with Linda about 9 years ago now and it was SO inspiring. Would be good to read and refresh my memory.
Many Thanks
Saskia
